What stays on your device
Your age, sex, pregnancy status, health conditions, prescribers, pharmacies, start dates and symptoms are used only inside your browser. We don’t have a server that receives them, we don’t have accounts, and we don’t store your list anywhere.
If you tick “Remember my list on this device,” your list is saved in your browser’s local storage on that device only. “Clear everything” removes it. We also remember that you’ve read the notice at the start, so it isn’t shown every time.
What is sent, and to whom
To look a medicine up, your browser sends the medicine name (and the ingredient names we find) to:
- the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s RxNav service (rxnav.nlm.nih.gov), to find the ingredients and drug classes; and
- the FDA’s openFDA service (api.fda.gov), to read the drug labels and recall reports.
Those requests come from your browser, so those government services see your IP address, as with any website. Nothing else about you is sent with them.
Fonts
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when the font is downloaded.
